Danish designer Poul Kjærholm’s career began humbly, as a cabinetmaker’s apprentice in 1948. Later, he was admitted to the Danish School of Arts and Crafts in Copenhagen. In the mid-1950’s he began working for entrepreneur Ejvind Kold Christiansen where, having tremendous artistic freedom, he produced several furniture ranges. It was in this role that Kjærholm introduced his PKO minimalist plywood series. The PK58 Coffee Table consists of a circular table-top that is supported by four legs, arranged in the shape of a square. In 1958, the designer went on to achieve worldwide acclaim for contributions to the ‘Formes Scandinaves’ exhibition in Paris. Indeed, it was here that he won the legendary ‘Lunning Award’ for his PK22 Chair. Kjærholm won numerous design awards throughout the tenure of his career.

Bought as a Christmas present. The chair arrived in super quick time . Nicely finished and looks beautiful. I am sure the recipients will be very pleased when they receive it.

It was great to have the samples, thank you . I would have chosen the white classic leather which is lovely but sadly in our small space the tulip style now not suitable. Maybe something else later.
